good times, good times!

last sunday's dinner was spectacular! we had some new items on the menu that are sure to make their debut once again. the menu was planned around festival fare or fair's fare, so we did our take on some popular menu items you'd find there! we are suckers for corn on the cob, any and all grilled meats at street festivals, potstickers and or empanadas make me jump for joy, margaritas, and of course FUNNEL CAKE!!! i mean, we did say festival food, right?! no festival is complete without funnel cake, period. so that being said, our menu was as follows:

cocktail : "we got the beet!" roasted beet and ginger margarita with fresh squeezed oranges and key lime! it had the most technicolor color and a flavor that blended savory and sweet! guilt factor : zero  fun factor : ten

1). grilled shrimp and mango juan-tons in the style of beggar's purses. they were served alongside a peanut sauce and avocado puree.

2). corn AND the cob chilled soup with pickled ginger and shiitake mushrooms.

3). caesar salad ( which was invented in mexico!) with cumin spiced wonton croutons!

4). tsing tao and piloncillo braised ribs with ramen noodle broccoli slaw and chinese long bean's

5). chinese 5 spiced funnel cake with a salted caramel ice cream

and then for the performance part we had stephen leonard who always brings it! it was a beautiful night in chicago that evening, with our stomachs full, and hearts content the voice from stephen just added that one extra warm and fuzzy sensation for the soul! we have yet to decide on the date for september, however we are already toying with some delicious recipes! stay tuned, people, it's delicious fun all the time here!

xo,
