A bit about Yo Soy Underground supper :
We host unique dining experiences at museums, art galleries, cafés, private homes, and other non-traditional settings with the goal of redefining the way we dine and connect with food. Yo Soy's "Mexican Inspired" menu is theme-based and carefully assembled drawing from our travels, holidays, and other unique ideas not normally explored by restaurants.
The term "Underground Supper" refers to the fact that the culinary experiences created by Yo Soy are constantly on the move, and have a high elusive factor. The "Pop-Up Suppers" are more defined by the meal being held at numerous locations around the city of Chicago. Yo Soy "Pop Up's" are in traditional, or non-traditional restaurant locations and create experiences that are sometimes "one-time" only events or an ongoing once a month visiting chef experience. The setting of the meals consists of communal tables of food lovers, artists, adventurous diners, etc,. Diners are notified via social media or word of mouth about the supper, and are typically given disclosure of the location eight hours before the event is to take place. Seats to the events are available only through our website and limited in availability.
Yo Soy Underground Supper is a labor of love that has allowed foodies, friends and strangers to gather over the past five years, allowing us the opportunity to experiment with different recipes and menu items that we hope to one day showcase in our very own restaurant. We cannot wait to meet and feed you!

San Fran-tastic Success!

Thank you to everyone who was able to come to our latest dinner! We were thrilled to share such a personal dinner with you all! Another amazing location, this time we took over Cassava, which serves delicious gluten free empanadas, smoothies and treats, so go check them out and show some love to our neighbors. We were also in the great company of Sami Grisafe, who may have rocked out her best show to date! The food as always was a twist on our recent adventures, in this case we took one of our favorite pastimes, chilling in Dolores park with cheese and Champagne and turned that into the first course. The second was inspired by both the Mission neighborhood and a terrific lunch we had at Betelnut, a play on a side street beer house or peiju wu. The third course came from a much admired chef and restaurateur Alice Waters. We were able to dine at Chez Panisse for Brians birthday dinner, the salad of perfectly sumptuous avocados and beets was the springboard for our soup course. The perennial favorite of The Slanted Door, led us straight to the entree, whereas we love Charles Phan's clay pot dishes that we couldn't let you only have a taste! Though we mix it up with homegrown jalapenos and goats milk caramel, cajeta. Finally dessert was the culmination of two events, Tartine bakery whose pastries are unmatched, and our engagement in Napa Valley. What better than a spin on a Mexican wedding cookie! Again a big thank you to everyone who came, as this indeed was a dinner to remember!
