A bit about Yo Soy Underground supper :
We host unique dining experiences at museums, art galleries, cafés, private homes, and other non-traditional settings with the goal of redefining the way we dine and connect with food. Yo Soy's "Mexican Inspired" menu is theme-based and carefully assembled drawing from our travels, holidays, and other unique ideas not normally explored by restaurants.
The term "Underground Supper" refers to the fact that the culinary experiences created by Yo Soy are constantly on the move, and have a high elusive factor. The "Pop-Up Suppers" are more defined by the meal being held at numerous locations around the city of Chicago. Yo Soy "Pop Up's" are in traditional, or non-traditional restaurant locations and create experiences that are sometimes "one-time" only events or an ongoing once a month visiting chef experience. The setting of the meals consists of communal tables of food lovers, artists, adventurous diners, etc,. Diners are notified via social media or word of mouth about the supper, and are typically given disclosure of the location eight hours before the event is to take place. Seats to the events are available only through our website and limited in availability.
Yo Soy Underground Supper is a labor of love that has allowed foodies, friends and strangers to gather over the past five years, allowing us the opportunity to experiment with different recipes and menu items that we hope to one day showcase in our very own restaurant. We cannot wait to meet and feed you!

YO SOY + FOOD NETWORK CELEBRITY CHEF MANEET CHAUHAN

We are excited and beside ourselves about the event we have coming up on Thursday May.16th, 2013 with Chef Maneet! We have joined forces to create one magical night that is sure to be a great spectacle. Each diner will recieve an autographed copy of Chef Maneet's cookbook "Flavors of my World" and a three course meal with cocktail and wine pairings! The signature cocktail and the main course will be created by Chef Maneet and the appetizer and dessert will be created by the team of Yo Soy. We are going to take recipes from "Flavors of my World" and give it a Yo Soy spin that will add a touch of Mexican! The space we have planned for the event is fantastic and we cannot wait to fill it with great food, great people and a night not to be forgotten! Currently Chef Maneet is on her 21 city "rock star style" book signing tour and is making Chicago her final stop. Chicago is where Chef Maneet called home for many years, and we are proud to co-host this meal with her and to welcome her back to the city that loves her. We will keep in the tradition of having a local singer / songwriter to wrap up the evening, and will also have a film crew from the Food Network filming the supper as a part of the new reality show centered around Chef Maneet's book tour. Seating is limited and are pre-purchased only. Make your reservation soon to ensure you are part of this charmed evening.

YO SOY "FRENCH FLIPPED" IS RIGHT AROUND LA ESQUINA

It is almost here! Our tribute meal to the festivities of Cinco de Mayo! We are so proud to be partnered with some amazing people for this event. The space at Chicago Urban Art Society (CUAS) is a spectacular setting for the plans we have for the evening. It is our first time hosting a Pop Up at this location, and are we are filled to the brim with excitement over the opportunity to showcase our culinary talent at CUAS. For the menu, we have planned a Mexican-French four course meal with drink pairings to compliment each course. The Mexican - French idea has spawned from the original date of May 5, 1862 when the Mexican army in the state of Puebla, Mexico defeated the French army who was considered the "World's most superior military" at that time. After revisiting that point in history, we decided the menu should have a unique play on this event, and these two countries and some of their staple dishes. As for the drink pairings, the fantastic folks over at Indio beer are graciously supplying our diners with their signature beer that has been brewed and sold in Mexico since 1893, and only released to the US market in the past 10 months! We have created some crafty cocktails out of the beer and cannot wait to have our guests enjoy them! And of course, what meal is not complete without some dramatics! The non-edible entertainment will feature performances by the Mexican Dance Ensemble. The Mexican Dance Ensemble is known for their extremely talented dancers and for their commitment to serve as a liaison of Mexican folk dance arts. We could not think of a better, more unique way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year! We do have limited amount of seats left and would love to see you at this event, so do not wait too long to grab your seat!
