A bit about Yo Soy Underground supper :
We host unique dining experiences at museums, art galleries, cafés, private homes, and other non-traditional settings with the goal of redefining the way we dine and connect with food. Yo Soy's "Mexican Inspired" menu is theme-based and carefully assembled drawing from our travels, holidays, and other unique ideas not normally explored by restaurants.
The term "Underground Supper" refers to the fact that the culinary experiences created by Yo Soy are constantly on the move, and have a high elusive factor. The "Pop-Up Suppers" are more defined by the meal being held at numerous locations around the city of Chicago. Yo Soy "Pop Up's" are in traditional, or non-traditional restaurant locations and create experiences that are sometimes "one-time" only events or an ongoing once a month visiting chef experience. The setting of the meals consists of communal tables of food lovers, artists, adventurous diners, etc,. Diners are notified via social media or word of mouth about the supper, and are typically given disclosure of the location eight hours before the event is to take place. Seats to the events are available only through our website and limited in availability.
Yo Soy Underground Supper is a labor of love that has allowed foodies, friends and strangers to gather over the past five years, allowing us the opportunity to experiment with different recipes and menu items that we hope to one day showcase in our very own restaurant. We cannot wait to meet and feed you!

The meal that was shared with the group this week was nothing short of "mexcellent"! We had great, pun-ny titles, we had a great performer, fantastic diners, an amazing space, oh, and we had steven page at our table, too! It was a night to remember, and one we will not soon forget since it was being filmed by a show called "Illegal Eats" which features cool, off the beaten path places to dine around the country. The meal was punctuated by Chicago subway performance vocal artist, Osvaldo de Moreno, who mezmorized the group with his tunes and crazy great voice. There was also a great impromptu alley performance by steven page! his voice took over the alleyways of lakeview neighborhood when he started belting his tunes from his new album! so.awesome.

The next you soy date is set for Sunday July 14th, 2013 AT 6:30pm! Mark your calendars and get ready for the release of the seats this week! We have been busy boys in the kitchen lately preparing and testing for the June 27th "a mexcellent" summer meal, and cannot wait to present the meal to our eager, hungry guests at the table! We have come up with so many menu ideas that we almost had to turn the meal into a 10 course feast of "mexcellent" dishes, but alas, we have narrowed it down to the final five! We have to admit the process of making and tasting this week has got our creative juices overflowing for the next supper, and we are predicting the julio (july) supper to be just as over the top as June's! We will send out emails in the next few days for the opportunity to grab your July supper seats, so stay tuned!
