A bit about Yo Soy Underground supper :
We host unique dining experiences at museums, art galleries, cafés, private homes, and other non-traditional settings with the goal of redefining the way we dine and connect with food. Yo Soy's "Mexican Inspired" menu is theme-based and carefully assembled drawing from our travels, holidays, and other unique ideas not normally explored by restaurants.
The term "Underground Supper" refers to the fact that the culinary experiences created by Yo Soy are constantly on the move, and have a high elusive factor. The "Pop-Up Suppers" are more defined by the meal being held at numerous locations around the city of Chicago. Yo Soy "Pop Up's" are in traditional, or non-traditional restaurant locations and create experiences that are sometimes "one-time" only events or an ongoing once a month visiting chef experience. The setting of the meals consists of communal tables of food lovers, artists, adventurous diners, etc,. Diners are notified via social media or word of mouth about the supper, and are typically given disclosure of the location eight hours before the event is to take place. Seats to the events are available only through our website and limited in availability.
Yo Soy Underground Supper is a labor of love that has allowed foodies, friends and strangers to gather over the past five years, allowing us the opportunity to experiment with different recipes and menu items that we hope to one day showcase in our very own restaurant. We cannot wait to meet and feed you!

June 14th SUMMER LOVING seats available now!

Summer is just around the corner. We cannot be more stoked about it. With the Summer of 2014 comes a very big personal day for us here at Yo Soy Underground Supper. The duo behind this monthly feast of Mexican deliciousness known as Yo Soy are getting married in July. Our next June " Summer Loving"  meal will be a highly personal one  for two reasons, one being that this is the only one we will be able to do for the peak of summer due to our wedding and honeymoon encompassing much of our attention. Second, being that Yo Soy Underground Supper is the "food baby" of the two of us, we have decided to take our diners on a culinary tour of our personal lives and show you where we started individually and where we are going as a united front. We will host a six course meal with influences from Summer, Weddings, Honeymoon, Texas, Florida and Mexican cuisine all being tied into one big delectable edible bow. We do have limited seats for this meal and seats must be pre-purchased. We hope to see you at the table for this supper that is all about a couple's culinary passion that burns hotter than a CTA bus on a hot, humid summer day in Chicago!

Yo Soy Underground Supper " Frexican" seats ready for the picking! Two dates available (Saturday 05.03.14 & Sunday 05.04.14) *UPDATE- BOTH EVENTS ARE SOLD OUT

May 3rd (Saturday) and 4th (Sunday):
UPDATE: SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ARE  SOLD OUT!

"FREXICAN"
We are celebrating the infamous holiday known in Mexico as "The battle of Puebla" , in the United States we call it "Cinco de Mayo" in a major culinary way. We have planned a Mexican-French five course meal to represent the true meaning behind this holiday. The Mexican - French idea was spawn from the original date of May 5, 1862 when the Mexican army in the state of Puebla, Mexico defeated the French army who was considered the "World's most superior military" at that time. After revisiting that point in history, we decided the menu should have a unique play on this event and create a meal that would have been had if things would have turned out in a more peaceful scenario. That's right, we are looking to rewrite history via food! What if the French and Mexican armies would have put down their guns, and picked up cooking pans, forks and knives, and became amigos at a communal table? That is the thinking behind the menu items we are preparing for this meal, and we are completely stoked about the numerous fantastic dishes that are going to come out of this partnership. This meal is sure to make your palate scream "je t'aime mucho!".

"ADELANTE!"
Chicago is finally thawing out little by little. Spring is here, and we welcome her with open arms (and a jacket)! We are happy to see the sun shining on our pale chicago skin and all of the people out and about in their best spring colored clothes! Tis the season to start defrosting, socializing and taking advantage of what this wonderful city has to offer! We thought we could further lure you out of hibernation with the temptation of an extraordinary meal that is themed after this wonderous time of the year. The menu will be a play off of the springtime in chicago, so look out for dishes like a cool yet spicy soup, or a chile that you bite into that is sweet! It will mess with your mind, much like an april fool would. Spring forward and reserve your seat HERE!
